Grammy-nominated singer Tiwa Savage is stepping into the spotlight in a whole new way with her acting debut in the film "Water & Garri," premiering on Prime Video on May 10th.
Savage portrays Aisha, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her Nigerian homeland after a decade in the U.S. following a family loss. But upon arrival, she finds her hometown transformed by rising violence and simmering tensions.
"Water & Garri" is directed by Meji Alabi and written by Comfort Emmanuel. The film is a joint production between Unbound Studios and JM Films, and also stars Mike Afolarin, Andrew Bunting, and Jemima Osunde.
Beyond her starring role, Savage takes on a multifaceted creative force in the film. She contributes to the project as a writer and performer of the original soundtrack, and also serves as an executive producer.
