Nigerian defender Ashleigh Plumptre underwent a successful surgery in Saudi Arabia to address a foot injury.
Plumptre, who plays for Saudi club Al-Ittihad, sustained the injury last month, forcing her to miss the Super Falcons' crucial Olympic qualifier against South Africa.
The former Leicester City player took to social media to share the news and express her gratitude. She thanked her club, the medical team, her national team colleagues, and fans for their unwavering support throughout the ordeal.
"It's been a long time coming trying to get answers," Plumptre wrote, "but I'm so grateful to now be at this stage." She emphasized her commitment to returning to the field soon, stating, "I can't wait to be back healthy with you all."
