Burna Boy achieves icon status on the 2024 TIME100 list, recognizing him as one of the most influential people globally.

Time Magazine revealed its annual TIME100 list, honoring the 100 most influential individuals worldwide for 2024. The list features esteemed figures of African descent like Nigerian singer-songwriter Burna Boy, Kenyan President William Ruto, and South African rugby player Siya Kolis.

Additionally, notable individuals include social entrepreneur Kennedy Odede from Kenya, architect Lesley Naa Norle Lokko from Ghana, Ugbadian LGBT advocate Frank Mugisha, and Congolese human rights activist Julienne Lusenge.

Each honoree is paired with a guest contributor chosen by TIME to write a tribute. Grammy-winning musician Angélique Kidjo, who collaborated with Burna Boy, praised his role in globalizing African music. Burna Boy, paired with 21 Savage, expressed admiration for artists who stay true to their convictions and commended 21 Savage’s authenticity in rap.

The list also features individuals who graced the four international covers of the TIME100 issue, such as actor Taraji P. Henson, singer-songwriter Dua Lipa, football quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and Russian opposition leader Yulia Navalnaya.
