First Bank Nigeria Holdings PLC Appoints Olusegun Alebiosu As Acting CEO

 


The board of directors of FirstBank Holdings Plc has named Olusegun Alebiosu as the acting CEO of its flagship subsidiary, FirstBank of Nigeria Limited, following the resignation of Adesola Adeduntan, the former managing director/CEO.


With immediate effect, Alebiosu assumes the role, pending approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria. Alebiosu boasts over three decades of banking experience and commenced his journey at FirstBank in 2016 as a group executive/chief risk officer. His ascent within the organization saw him appointed as executive director in 2022, where he also undertook the roles of chief risk officer and executive compliance officer.


Before joining FirstBank, Alebiosu held various risk management positions at institutions such as Coronation Merchant Bank, African Development Bank, and United Bank for Africa. He brings a wealth of academic accolades, having attended Harvard Business School and Harvard School of Government. Additionally, Alebiosu holds degrees from the University of Lagos and the London School of Economics, and he completed the advanced management program at Harvard Business School.


Furthermore, Alebiosu is affiliated with esteemed professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), the Institute of Chartered Accountants (FCA), the Nigeria Institute of Management (ANIM), and the Nigeria Institute of International Affairs.
