A businessman and prominent figure, Pascal Okechukwu, commonly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has appeared at the Federal High Court in Lagos State to face charges related to alleged abuse of the national currency.
Cubana Chief Priest, seated in the dock, is being presented before Justice Kehinde Ogundare on three counts related to the misuse of the currency, allegedly involving the spraying and manipulation of Nigeria's legal tender during a social gathering, contrary to the provisions of the Central Bank Act of 2007.
The allegations stem from an incident on February 13, 2024, at Eko Hotel, where it is claimed that Cubana Chief Priest sprayed the Naira while participating in a dance event.
During the gathering, it is alleged that he tampered with N500 notes issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria, spraying them for a duration of two hours.
